CPPC National Co-ordinator Omar Latif with Mariela Castro Espin who was in Toronto to participate in many activities during Pride week and received several human rights awards while here. Here visit was organized by the Communist Party of Canada.

Mariela, is the director of SENESEX in Havana and has bravely spearheaded the fight for acceptance and equality for all, regardless of gender and gender orientation in Cuba for many years now. She is the daughter of the greatly respected revolutionary fighter and leader Vilma Espin (now deceased) and her husband Raul, the president of Cuba.

As you aware on Sunday, September 21st, 2013, two suicide terrorists blew themselves up in All Saints Anglican Church, Peshawar, Pakistan.
